Dear Families,

Students should not arrive on campus before 8:27 as we do not have supervision before then. No students should go to the back of the building until Staff directs them.

To prioritize student safety, we kindly ask all visitors to refrain from going to the back of the building. You can walk your child to the hill and watch them join their line. Afterward, we ask that visitors proceed to the front of the building.

This protocol allows our staff to focus fully on supervising the students. We appreciate your cooperation in helping us maintain a safe and secure campus.

KSD created a Civility Policy for all stakeholders to uphold on KSD property. Stakeholders include the Board of Directors, Employees, Parents/Guardians, Volunteers, Contractors, and Visitors. The policy states that all stakeholders are expected to demonstrate respectful and courteous communication.

Children may not arrive on campus before 8:25 since we don't have adult supervision until that time. Around 8:27, students will be asked to line up in their assigned grade-level lines.

1. Be considerate as many parents may be dropping off or picking up children at the same time.

2. Park only in a designated parking spot (KA Baseball field during drop-off and pick-up). There is NO parking in these areas:

-Front parking lot during drop off and pick up

-Staff parking lot (east side of building)

-On 22nd Pl.

3. Children should never cross any parking lot to get to a vehicle without an adult to assist them. 

4. Pull all the way forward in the loop so the flow of traffic can continue without interruption.  Only drop off or pick up students in the Green Zone.

5. If you get to the Green Zone and your child isn't there yet, you will be asked to pull forward to our waiting area on the street.

6. Be certain to drive slowly and carefully as you enter and exit the parking lots. 

7. Do not use the left lane of the drive-through as a “passing lane.”  

8. Staff will do their best to communicate and keep traffic in the Drop-off and Pick-up lane moving while keeping your children safe.

9. Be respectful of others (no loud music, smoking, vaping, horn honking, inappropriate language, or obscene hand gestures).

At the end of the school day, families are asked to wait at the front of the building for student pick-up.

Teachers will escort their classes to the front at 3:17 PM.

Students must remain with their class until they are met by a parent or guardian at a designated pick-up point at the front of the building.

For families parking in the KA gravel lot: If you park in the KA gravel parking lot and wish for your child to meet you there, please inform your child’s teacher. This will allow the teacher to grant your child permission to walk in that direction.
