Dress for the Winter Weather

Families,
Please ensure your child comes to school dressed appropriately for cold and wet weather. Students have two recesses each day and will go outside as long as temperatures are above 20 degrees and it is not pouring rain. If your child needs a coat, hat, or gloves, please let us know—we are happy to help.

Cold and Flue Season Reminders

Cold and flu season is upon us! Please remember to keep your child home when they are sick. (Click on the links below for more information.) If you don't think your child will make it to school the whole day, please keep them home until they are able. Minimizing the spread of germs that are shared this time of year will help us all stay healthy during this season!

Drop Off and Pick Up Parking

Families,
There is NO Parking on 22nd Place street on either side. You will notice the district painted yellow on the curbs in front of our building as a reminder. If you choose to park rather than use the drop-off/pick-up loop in the front lot of the building, you must park in KA baseball parking lot.

Refer to the diagram below to ensure you are entering and exiting the parking lot in the correct direction. Cones have been placed near the bushes, grass area, and pathway to create a safer area for our students walking to the parking lot. You may only enter KA parking lot from 22nd Place (no exit). You may enter and exit on Olympia. You must park your vehicle before students can exit or enter. Several cars have been stopping in the lane and letting kids in and out of the car...this is very unsafe!

Parent Reps needed for Canyon View Committees

We need a parent rep for our Action Team for Partnerships (ATP).

ATP is a school-based team composed of principals, teachers, parents, and community members to plan, implement, and evaluate school-family-community partnerships. This team meets monthly to develop annual plans for partnership activities, ensure those plans are carried out, and assess their effectiveness. The goal of an ATP is to foster stronger connections between the school and the wider community, improve outreach to families, and ultimately enhance student success. This committee meets on the 4th Tuesday of the month from 8:00 to 8:40.

Please let Mrs. Guajardo know if you are interested in serving on this committee: cathy.guajardo@ksd.org.
